  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks for the compliments guys :grinyes:. its been about a week since i bought him and i still cant stop staring at him. He has already rearranged all the gravel in his tank and is constantly attacking the glass. Cant wait till i can move him to a bigger tank. Im gonna try to post a video of him later so you guys can see him in action.

As above, there is no common way, not really anyways.

Tho actually, Green Texas are used more than Texas, because Green Texas have much bigger and (imo) nicer looking pearlings than a Texas, which just looks amazing on a Red Texas. Often, the Green Texas would be breed with a Red Devil or a Blood Parrot, but prolly just as likely is a Green Texas being breed with a KKP or some sort of Flowerhorn or whatever else. So yeah, there's really not a common way.

And in case you're wondering, A Green Texas is Herichthys carpintis whilst a Texas is Herichthys cyanoguttatum. They're different species, though imo anyways, the Green Texas is much nicer looking than a Texas due to its pearling size, shape, patterns, plus the body color as well.

This is my first experience with any type of texas cichlid and he would be far to aggressive to keep with your rays. From everything I have read keeping any type of texas cichlid with your rays is probably a bad idea. I think you would probably be better off with something a little more peaceful like angel fish or maybe discus.

How long have you had them? Do you know for a fact that they are texas x RD?

I bought them from a girl that lives near me who had them breed on accident. I saw both parents in the tank together, so I believe that the cross is legit. I have had the babies for about a week now, so I am guessing that they will need another week or so before they are comfortable enough to start anything (growing, fading, etc). They are in a growout tank i have with 6 festae(F1), and 4 lyonsi (f2) they are larger than the festae, but smaller than the lyonsi.

Actually they are red devil red texas you got them from House of tropicals correct? because i know the guy that House of tropicals got them from.

No u do not mark got all five of them from me and mother r not red devil x red Texas they are what I said they were I got the parents and other offspring on my fish room.
