hehe i'll say this now and let it be the last time i say it - no fry will be kept, raised, sold, frozen, eaten (sprinkle some on your omlet maybe? haha) or whatever... i.e. the only thing left alive in the tank should things ever get that far will be the one beani, one mota (soon to be traded away actually) and the anubias plants

Head shaking is a normal sign of breeding. I have rarely seen it used in aggression. Mexican cichlids seem to hybridize (carpintis, salvini, etc) with everything and at a very young age/size at that! So...I have no doubt that ewok has a female Beani. I think most everyone with half a brain understood that his original post was meant to be a silly way of providing an FYI on his captives. How dull would this place be without some comic relief? Tien, very happy to hear that You got a female on your hands.
In my opinion there is plenty to derail. Ewok's excitement was, in the end, geared toward the fact that he has a female. Knowing him personally, I am sure what he sees is what he says. For you to come in and Ba humbug! is lame. I respect your knowledge but this was uncalled for.
