If aggression does become an issue, I'll have some sort of escape route-whether it be a 125, the 180 or isolating the problem fish. At least I know what to expect. Now all I need are the pikes.![]()
Peanut_Power;1802775; said:You have been warned. Pikes are NOTHING like other cichlids. They have their own level of aggression, especially towards each other. Its your choice to ignore the words of advice from people who HAVE experience with them, but it is a very large risk to take. Not only could you loose lots of money, you would basically be knowingly killing those fish. Best of luck to you though, you live and will learn. Its your money. Hopefully they won't murder themselves in there.

How many 7" + pikes are going in the 55G ?
We've had a trio of undescribed Johanna type pikes in a 55 for almost a year. Started with 4 - one male was killed by the other 3 two months ago, have 1 M + 2 F left now ~ about 10" currently.
What species did you get. From Rapps? If so, hope you got some marms and if you did, post up some pics. I was gonna get some Marms from him but was a little leary as to what variant they are. All I could get out of him is that the point of shipping was Santarem. I already had some Tapajos from him so didn't want to end up with more.thefishguy7;2067873; said:Update: no tapajos yet. Jeff sold out before I could jump.
I did buy various other species of pikes and I am beginning to understand them more. Hopefully, the tapajos will come soon. I've set up 3 more tanks and have 2 more to come.![]()
