Redfin Pickeral

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I thought about grass pickeral, but they still get to like 30," so I might go w/ the tigers, since I have a pond and they are much prettier IMO

Grass pickerel don't grow any larger than redfin pickerel, they are actually the same species. The redfin is a sub-species of the grass. Chain pickerel are probably the ones you're thinking of, they grow rather large.

Take into consideration how much it will take to feed a fish that size. You already said your bass eats a lot. If you are going to put him in a pond, you better have an established population of feeders, such as sunfish, bass, and other smaller fish. If not you will be supplying him with food and not just little rosy reds and goldfish.

Sorry, I meant chain pickeral, not really sure why I typed grass lol.
And drewish, I have places where I can go and catch hundreds of minnows, dozens of small sunfish, carp, and other small fish that would be perfect tiger food.
