If it hasn't been said: I think the arowana would eat the redfin if kept together.

The best strain of redfin pickerel I have seen comes from S. Carolina (KSI's). The 'red' fins are as red as they get.

Yes. Eventually the arowana is going to outgrow the redfin. The arowana won't see the redfin as a "friend" anymore, but as a tasty treat.

Have you considered an african pike instead of the redfin? My odoe pike and my arowana got along just fine.
