my green terrors eat floating and sinking pellets dont really seem to have a preference, im going eventually only feed sinking but im using up the floating pellets i have and they eat whatever i throw in there

are green terrors picky eaters?

not from my experience, they have eaten whatever food iv thrown in there since i got them, i think they were even eating within 30min of being put in my tank if i remember correctly, but then fish are always different so someone else might have a different experience with them

I feed my green terrors the same I feed my bichirs and they are really beautiful. I feed them massivore, shrimp and tilapia.
Try and get some wild caught if you can. really nice colours.
Good luck and good decision on the ray.

Just chiming in here but I gotta ask. Why is it better to feed sinking pellets? Isn't it harder to remove the uneaten food from the tank or is there more nutritional benefits with the sinking?

i wouldnt neccessarily say one is better than the other, im just sticking to sinking after i run out of floating because i have some fish that will only eat the sinking and dont like to come up to the top and i have bottom dwellers as well, so i like to be able to just feed everyone the same foods, but if all your fish come to the top with no problems then thats great and floating food will be fine for your fish

when it comes to floating pellets, i see 1 thing that could be good or bad.

the pellet would be constantly moving! in my tank the pellet would be on a river rafting ride!!

i could see it being good since the pellet would be moving attracting the attention of the fish.

it could be bad in some scenarios where it is moving very quickly making it a little difficult for the fish to catch it..

with a sinking pellet; the pellet will still move through the water, but will eventually come to a resting place, where multiple types of fish could get at it.

however, i would like to try floating pellets when i get my cichlids. the reason be; i want to eventually hand feed them!
