redtail catfish size

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've read reports of up to 6 feet in length. That's like a whole person!

The tank would probably have to be the size of a condominium. =D

bigger tank

if you have to ask, just don't do it...

i think steep personally. but like we said, growth rates of a couple inches a month at least and there are people on here with 36"ers i believe (necro? basslover?). hope you're actually ready...

Redtail cats grow alarmingly if kept properly,2 inches to 12 inches in 6 months is very common,in 2years you have a two foot monster.Dont buy one of these magnificent fish unless you have the resourses to keep it long term,a 10 foot x 4 x 2.5 high would be a minimum to do it justice. In the wild they grow between five and six feet like already suggested, most captives top out at 3.5 feet long....still a monsterous fish !!!!
