Redtail Catfish + Sun Catfish - Aggression Issue

Hi Peeps,

Fresh on the Forum and I'm already starting with the questions lol
I have 1x Redtail Catfish and 1x Sun Catfish in the same tank.

The RTC is about the same length as the SC, but much broader.
I am not sure how compatible these 2 fish are supposed to be,
but I am read that both of them are quite peaceful fish. My 2
cats seem to be fighting quite a lot lately, over a certain
little "hollow" under a piece of driftwood. Can I overlook this
as just a simple territorial battle, or am I set to have more
of these outbreaks?

My RTC has always been peaceful with the other tankmates and
"he" has always been the one chilling under that specific piece
of driftwood. The Sun Catfish is new to the tank.

Any ideas / advice would be welcome :)
 
Are there lots of decorations for the other fish to hide in?
Because if there isnt, they will always be fighting over the hiding spot.
 
oh yea, ur from sa i remember now, you really should be looking at a bigger tank or pond for that rtc eventually, and where about are u located

Im in Wetton, busy having a covered pond built, but I've been taking it slow, as the fish are still under 10cm now. At that size, the tank should be large enough, right? - going to look into getting some more decorations in the mean time :)
 
Give it a few months and your problem will be solved ...you will have only 1 RTC to worry about.
