Yeah, that's how most places run. I find it ridiculous that I have to fight employees for stuff when it's clearly on display. The managers there don't think there's anything wrong with selling to employees vs customers.
I'm hoping when the "aquatic specialist" there leaves maybe I can get a foot in the door and clean up the fish section. Then I can get some insider fish.
At least I'd put up a "sold" sign for crap I want to swindle from customers.
northern NJ
1-2 inches are usually around 10 and the 5" plus ones usually run for about 70-80. one store by me has a pile full in the 4-6" range. anyone for nj looking for loaches in that size go to ely's in florham park
Is your LFS by chance Exotic Aquatics? I just saw those prices and sizes when i stopped by there the other day on the way to p/up some Craigslist Clown Loaches 50.00 for 2 healthy 6 inchers.
I also just recently picked up a 7" YoYo Botia for $14.99. Just moved up to a 140g tank, so we've got room now. Who knew the low cost of living in Texas extended to fish prices!?!?
