Regional Clown Loach pricing

this is at LFS bay area baby gots them cheap loaches, which might get eaten by my polys :(
 
11 inchers = 60 dollars
9-10inch = 30 dollars

Im from Malaysia. But if it is in Malaysian currency and living costs, it is quite high and these clowns come in once in many blue moons.
 
Do you guys have a regular selection of different sized/prized clowns in your local pet store or are the bigger ones just some rarities that some ex-aquarists have been giving back to the store?

In all of the Finnish aquarium stores that I have visited during my aqua-hobby there has practically always been only one size fishes available independent of the species. Only in some special circumstances there might have been some fish that somebody back brought back to the store or something like that. At least to me it makes me appreciate my bigger clowns much more as I have been raising them to their current size by myself and not "cheat" by buying them when they are already big. ;)

The clown loach prices vary a bit but they usually are around 10 euros each so at least with current rates it is something around $13-14 and the fishes are around 2-3 inches.

My god, everything's so cheap compared to the prices I've been seeing. I'd better shop around a bit more. But in all honesty the prices I listed are fairly accurate to what I've been seeing in my local fish stores. Is it because im so much farther north then most other people?

But seriously if I could buy a 4-5" CL for under $25 I would in a heart beat.
 
These are rough prices here in NZ, in NZ$, at the LFS, usually more expensive at the big chain stores. I'll convert the price to US$ based on the current rate, but I'm not converting the sizes to inches!!!!
3cm $16 ($9.29US)
6cm $25-28 ($14.50-16.20US)
6-7cm $35+ ($20.30US)
Anything bigger than that is not often available and varies from ludicrously cheep to are-you-sitting-down expensive.

The 6cm ones are usually labeled as "Medium Clown Loaches" in the shops... :ROFL:
