OMG not on Craigslist!

The people who frequent the Free section on there are ten times as crazy as the rest. I had one of them try to walk out with their coat pockets full of cleaning supplies from my kitchen before ...

Free on MFK might be OK though ... Maybe. I don't recall getting a membership being all that difficult.

You broke golden rule number one though, never let someone you do not know in your house or know where you live. meet them down the street!

sorry to hear your having a hard time, I assume there is a legitimate reason why your moving to a 40g

i bought a condo, and with all my stuff moved in, there was simply no room for a 60 gallon.

I think its the color. People want fish with color.

i know!! i just hate it, they look amazing in the light.

I know the feeling...I'm trying to thin out a bunch of stuff too, its a pain to get rid of them unless they're free. and even then you get flakes.

see, i understand it's craigslist and flakes is something you have to deal with, but don't ****ing tell me your going to pick them up tonight around 7 and never show up.

How big do they get? I'm seeing 6" about everywhere. That's really too big for a LFS to take? Crazy.

i have ****ty LFS's around me, and all them said they are too big to sell... WTF?

You mean you can't sell fish like these?!

Ridiculous! I'd buy them for $10 easily if I weren't in the process of focusing my efforts on crayfish and bettas right now.

yeah... i dropped the price to $5.00 and nothing yet.

i don't have a problem giving them away for free to someone that knows how to take care of them, but when you put "FREE" on craigslist, you get the type of people that think it's a goldfish.

i do that with anything i sell on there like cell phones, electronics, etc... but i didn't think to do it with fish, i dunno.

One of my LFS said they wouldn't even take a 4" fish from me before. Said it's just too difficult to sell fish any bigger than that. I think he's in it for the money and not the care of the fish. Thus why I now travel 20+ minutes to get to another LFS.

i wouldn't doubt it in this economy. i've seen a couple LFS's close their doors recently. i'm guessing when money is tight, fish are the last thing you want to spend your money on.

hey guys, quick question... if i can't get rid of the snow white cichlids, i'm planning on keeping the smaller one in the 40 gallon and keep the big one (bully) in his own tank. what size tank should i go with? he's about 6-7" long.

Would he be all by himself or would you feel compelled to put other stuff with him?

If he's by himself, a 20 long would be bare minimum I'd say. But it wouldn't be fun. I'd do a six-inch fish by itself in about 30 gallons for easier maintenance and more stable parameters.
