I would do something from either Amphilophus or Parachromis.

A nice Midas or Trimac would be cool.

Are you going to keep the sunfish in thi tank too ?

A breeding pair of sunshine Os would make that tank Pop! Definitely a species with some character.

If looking for smaller cichlid species, any of the Madagascar Paretroplus would make for an interesting tank. I've always been partial to their resemblance to saltwater tang species.

They are a bit small to fill up a larger tank, IMO. And 2 have a good chance of murdering each other, unless they are a pair.

That's the main reason I wound up with over 33K gallons in over 125 tanks. I'm still looking for more room. It's amazing how quickly 30 450gal tanks can be filled (plus all the other tanks).
