releasing cichlids in our areas

Is it not common knowledge that releasing non-native fish into an enviroment can wreak havok?! Nobody feels sorry for you..

He wasn't merely asking questions, he said that he planned on letting numerous cichlids go into a non-native enviroment which all can most deinitely wreak havok.!

i wanted to. Or you can say I planned to. But plans do fail. That was part of the plan. But gotta research and get the steps right before moving forward with the plan.

If and only if you make a private pond, then you can release your cichlids into it. Anything else would be illegal and immoral.

lolololol me?!?! ive never released a exotic fish in my life, in fact i live in central fl, where cichlids are almost non-existant, south fl is the place where they all are, and many got out of fish farms during hurricanes, from hotel stockings, and the gov. attempting to erradicate the cichlids by introducing yet even more cichlids. But I don't want to stay on this forum any longer seeing how it should and will be shut down..

most of the cichlids in florida were not released pets, the vast majority are decendents of escapees from the numerous fish farms in the area

My mouth dropped when I read this. Because of people like this our hobby might change for ever. The ban on importing fish will happen if people keep thinking letting tropical fish go is ok.

So don't even think about it. It's not cool.
