relieving electir bill to support more tanks!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's friggin awsome man. My electric bills have more then tripled since I bought my house several years ago. If it weren't for the HOA I'd have those panels on my roof already also.

I think energy decentralization via solar is the way of the future. Kudos & savings to those who switch sooner then later.

Very cool. I have been thinking of solar water heating for mt tanks/pond when I move but with the cost and hassle I fugured I might as well spend and hassle more and go solar electric and support the whole house.

ya I saw on a show that a guy was paying $1300 a month for electricity and put in a panel system and a windmill and is now paying $13 a month with is just the service fees...

Here in MD I think if you generate excess power the power company has to, by law, purchase back the excess from you at a premium rate. For people who have a well set-up system this buy-back basically pays for night-time power use & the delivery charges. Basically = $0 electric bill.

It's crazy to think that even at a staggering $10k - $20k upfront cost of installing solar, the payback period would be less then 3 years.

I'm still interested in knowing the full economics of the system too. But at $1000 per panel, cjfrontlovr has $36000 in just panels. That would still have the system pay for itself in only 4-6 years (rough estimate).

There is a manufacturer in Iceland that is producing broad spectrum solar panels that produce significantly more power than traditional panels. I am surprised that we don't hear about them. :(

$800 a month! Wow! I'll never b**ch about my $100 a month electric bill again.

Nice looking set up you have there.

I love it!! Kudos!!

This will definitely be something I look into in the near future!

woooooo very nice!! my electric bill was $150 once and i almost fainted!!!

My average bill is around $250. And that's keeping the temp at around 80....
I wish I could get me some of those panels.

Definitely would like more details. Am looking at doing something like this.
