Remington 870 Home Defender

I saw this awesome shot gun on a member's signature line and immediately went to the local sporting good store to purchase one. They did not have it in stock and the store is going to order it for me.

In my line work...home protection can be an issue at times...

I would love hear more about the 870 if anyone owns it...

If it weren't for my clientele lately...I probably wouldn't have considered it...but life changes.

The bald head, 300 lb frame, and 455 lb bench press has worked wonders for years...but it has lost some of efficacy...

I was raised in Southwest Louisiana and I can remember being very young running through the woods with a 410 single action shotgun hunting robins and blackbirds.

It was a way of life. So having a gun around is not unnatural...I hate the thought of why I purchased it...

Yea...Ban guns! That way, the only people who have guns will be the criminals....

Is the "home defender" just an 870 express with tactical add-ons? (pistol grip, 7 round enhancer, etc). I have a plain 870 express which is awesome, but to buy and mod would be a little pricey.

The only tac-style shotgun I own is a Maverick 88 (picked up for $75) with pistol grip (fold-over stock), heat shield, 7 round enhance, xenon light, and reciever shell holder. Cost me about $200 (might be $250 with today's inflation) to make. Cheaper gun, but have never had a problem jamming or misfiring after 4 years. If you can't find a good deal on the gun, could cost more.

Thinking about removing the blueing and getting it parkerized... if only.
