Remington 870 Home Defender

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The 870 that I saw did not have the pistol grip but had the shorter barrel...and I believe held only 5 shells.

I'm not certain.

The reason I'm thinking about a defender model shotgun is for the wife. At least she would not have to worry about aiming.

behemoth that's awesome! cant believe you went out and got one!! here's a few pics of what I got. The M4 is almost done, only the lower receiver is pictured here....

BTW, I'm sure you can tell this is MY side of the bed :headbang2

And in case your wondering, this is not your regular 870 out of the box. I spent more in parts that the price of the gun!! Here's a list of the mods...

- Knoxx M4-style 6 position collapsible stock
- TacStar Side Saddle
- TacStar Heat Shield
- Surefire M73 Picatinny Rail Fore-end
- Flash Suppressor
- UTG front pistol grip
- Surefire G2 Nitrolon flashlight (to light up the bad guys!!)
- Truglo fiber optic bead sight

The .45 is all stock except for a Pachmayr slip-on grip.

On my M4, the specs are as follows:

- Spikes Tactical lower receiver
- CMMG 16" mid-length upper, mid-length gas system
- Yankee Hill Picatinny quad rail fore-end
- RRA lower parts kit and 2 stage trigger
- A.R.M.S. flip-up BUIS (back up iron sight)
- CAA pistol grip
- CAA flashlight grip adaptor
- Vltor Clubfoot collapsible stock
- Bullet Button (to keep in CA legal, damn democrats!!)

I do not actually have the 870 yet.

Thats my next purchase. It was your sig that got me looking toward the 870. You will have to talk me through all of the modifications...

Sure thing man, just hit me up when you're ready!!

Didn't realize that...I will have to reconsider my next purchase...

I believe tec 9 is restricted in the People's Republic of California, but not most other places, especially since the assault rifle ban was allowed to expire. Also depends on if its full or semi auto. Now days there are a lot more semi autos available legally than before.

I don't want to troll or anything, but if you had your guns out in the open, like in a shelf, wouldn't it be more unsafe, like, "I came in with this crowbar.. oh look here, a pistol... with ammo!" IMO would rather have it in a draw rather than a shelf.

Yeah prob, but I keep the bedroom door locked so it will give me time to react in the middle of the night. Either way, if stuff hits the fan, I'm going for the 12 gauge with the magnum buckshots, not the handgun. And the shotgun wont fit in a drawer!!
