By the way... Your original post on this topic won a limerick!
Its in a new thread I started in the lounge under the title "Limerick Lounge"A what meow?
Then please do test it with territorial cichlids and we'll be happy to hear back from you. But note... it wasn't any off red hue... it was RED.I seriously doubt the red light theory. In the end rehoming fish or getting a new tank is the way to go. Keep in mind its a 55 gal really not big enough for all of the fish you have in there
Ok 18 whopping gallons per fish wow seriously !
I did try it the other night amd got 0 response, i said i doubt that this is causing the issue not that it cant happen with the red lights but lets see 3 territorial cichlids in a 55 gallon tank, aaaaaaaaaand you think red lights are the only cause ? Lol nothing else jumps out at you like space ?
Plus they are stilll showing signs of aggression with no red light.
Wo your jd killed fish that are red does that mean cichlids wont kill a green, blue or yellow fish ?

AND Buphy allotted 18 gallons for each of his 3 fish in there; enough room for each one to have it's own special home turf.
Oh, and here... you don't have to buy it. Read it for yourself. Buphy isn't the first one to have noticed this red light response in fish... it's documented more than I can count, but I didn't know that when I responded from my experiences and observations.

Can you guess which are the only dither fish missing from my Dempsey tank? Only the ones that had red fins! Hmm?
Just like the goldfish thread... Would you please tell me where I said red light is the only cause...
What I wrote according to my experiences and observations, and backed up by countless (well count them if you want too) documented university and other level tests is that it is a major contributing factor.

As to the other colored fish... they haven't eaten them yet! The red finned were the first and only to go, and that was almost a year ago. I've left town for a few days at a time on several occasions and left them in no one's care and came home to happy healthy hungry dithers and dempseys. I think the red must be tastier for them! (Misquote that last line all you like... it's a joke, much like your misquoting for the sake of argument)
