I'm going to have to agree with Jaws, fish just snap sometimes. Every fish I have had has just been fine one day and lost it the other. Happened in my old Dempsey, my jaguar, and now suddenly but expected my flowerhorn. He was never aggressive but has killed two similar sized fish to him in less than 2 days. What I think is the red lights made them uncomfortable and basically poured gasoline on a little spark. And pissed the fish off. Either way the same end results in a 55.

LOL thanks for pulling his post forward. I didn't catch that stockage list. In pm he only told me there was a JD, an EBJD, and A Bleekerii. (the main three combatants) Huge diff from what you knew. Thanks again.
 
Buphy?!? :( You holdin out bro! My comments were based on 3 fish only. Those jewels can be real antagonists too.
Might even be too much for a 75.

He only has 3 fish in the 55. Still overstocked
 
I don't have the jewels anymore. That list was my initial stock list. Now in the 55 I just have the bleekeri, EBJD and JD.
 
Maybe just take back the gt and choc and stick the ebjd in they're tank? As much as it would suck to have to take them back at least it would buy you bit more time and you wouldn't have to move a big fish on. Then once you get your big tank later you'll have a Killa 55 for a new chocolate and gt?
 
Benno you have a great memory but it's not updated =P In my 37 I have a 2" chocolate and a 3" severum. Wife would kill me if I said we had to take them back, she's already mad I made here get rid of that blood parrot...

Im with you ... my kids and wife usually dictate which fish would stay/go when there are issues. I let them pick the fish in the 150 and i get the 75 lol.

How big of a tank can you get ? The 37 gal could eventually end up with the samr issue your having with the 55
