Honestly, space in the bedroom for a 4 foot tank (where the 55 is now) and if I mounted the TV on the wall an 8 foot tank in the living room... but the cost of that isn't something i can currently afford...

The 37 is in existence with the understanding that they move to the 55 later... though it may be sooner at this point...

I think the red light thing could be valid just cuz it doesnt trigger something withy fish doesnt disprove anything but imo "long term" is now a thing of the past for these guys, sucks but you knew this would happen eventually 55 gal is too small right now and i think the fish are telling you that.

You're right. 55 not an easy balancing act to pull off with those 3 fish. Maybe a split level cave system, but even then...
As to the University red light studies, even they note some species more responsive to it than others. Not gonna try it with my jacks. I don't have extra tanks for rehousing. Barely staying ahead of my fry growth requirements.

Ya, the last day or so I've been thinking about waiting for a slightly bigger tank for duo wet pets and saving an aggressive cichlid community for a 1000 gallon dream tank =P

Now I fully understand you interest in the triple stacked 40s arrangement. Will transfer from head and get plan pics to you asap. Should be less than a week. Lots going on on this end with work and fry.
Tight footprint, lots of aeration/filtration for 125 gallon setup.

No worries shadow..you were crackin jokes from the beginning of the thread so i didnt think you would really take what i was saying as an insult . Yeah man i wasnt trying to say the red light thing couldnt cause some issues too me the 55 gal was the elephant in the room. Anything is possible with these fish

Naw no prob... just got finished with goldfish thread where others were twisting everything I posted and treating me as if I had posted disparaging remarks, and weirdly enough, agreeing with what I wrote in the process of arguing "against" me. GM even got involved but at least they were sane about it. So yup! was a bit on edge. Sorry.
