Hey guys was just wondering what Is the best way to get rid of the algae growing on my glass??
I have cut back on food, the amount of time light is on, added a uv and even tried covering the tank with a blanket during the time I'm not home to stop natural light getting in and it still reappears within a couple of days of me scrapping it off and doing a water change.
Any help ideas much appreciated thanks guys :)

Maybe the phosphates in your tank are high? In which case you could add a phosphate removal pad in your filter...

But before doing that, have you tried cutting back on the amount of time you leave your lights on?

As stated above, check your levels. Another trick is to leave an area of algae on the back glass so as to minimize the growth on the front. Other than that, reduce lighting period and or add more plants

What kind of lights do you have and how long are they on for? What kind of algae do you have?

The lights would be on for 4-5 hrs max a day which I don't think is alot??
I broke my test kit so havnt checked my levels for over a week but have had this problem for a while when all levels come up ok..
Have also tried live plants. Even with the baskets and watched my fish drag them around lol. Might try them again or could I possible put them somewhere in my sump??
I'd say is a brownish looking algae but not sure on types or anything like that

^ I recognize those lights, they are very similar to what i have, so that means you are likely running 4 T5 bulbs, just not sure if they are T5-HO or not?

But the fact you are saying its brown leads me to believe it could possibly a detritus build up?
