rena filstar filters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I actually have 3 of these on one tank for the last 7-8 months and they work really well. Yes an XP4 and 2 XP3 sounds excessive on a 115 gallon but I have the tank pretty well stocked but these filters keep this tank crystal clear with 2 units of Chemipure as well. The only thing I would not rely on is Rena states their XP4 can handle a tank of up to 265 gallons. Always better to over-filter....than under filter. They are very easy to prime and maintain as well.

Nice!

I have been using two Xp3s and and two Xp4s on my 300 and so far have no complaints. The tank is lightly stocked but i have no complaints. The options that you have for outputs makes it great for getting current and movement to any part of a large tank.
I would recommend them to anyone.

i was looking at an xp4, its got tons of room for media and the flow rate is insane. puls the price at my LFS is 189.99!!!!!!!!!!
At that price that's only for an XP3 so for an XP4 that's a steal glad I got mine brand new in a box for $100 only from a friend and I got no problems with it.

If you are looking to spend close to $200 on one filter I would go with the fx5. It will give you more options with media and greater capacity for bio media as well as a stronger pump. You can get them on eBay for just under$200. I have 2x fx5 on my 240g and 2x XP3s on my 180g with an AC110.

I have 1 xp3 and 2 xp4 both are great! so far so good! worth the money!

I am guessing this price will still work...this is a link for xp3's for 109.99. The discount on the xp4's isnt as drastic as the xp3's. I got 2 xp3's to run on my 240 along side my wetdry. The canisters are strickly for mech filtration and maybe chemi pure in my case...
