I have an Xp3 and Xp2 on my 90gal and an Xp2 on my 46gal. Work great, lots of room for media, easy to clean.

xp series is great filters. i HAD an xp3 but i decided to return it and got an fx5 for the same price.
xp filters are great little units, BUT be warned that the advertised flow rates online are not correct. the xp4 pump is rated at 450gph, but installed with media it only flows 175gph. the xp3 rated 350, actuall flow is 150gph. before anybody gets their panties in a bunch over this, it states these flow rates right on the filters packaging box.
with that said i love my xp4.

I was looking at the xp3 and fx5 for my 240...and since I didnt need them for bio I just wanted mech filtration I opted for 2 xp3's, because of that link, so I could have two points of intake in the tank rather than just one from the fx5. I actually printed that link and went to the petsmart by my house and they pricematched. No shipping but paid tax...so that was a wash. Glad I could help
Love my XP's. I have 2-125gal tanks which are stocked fairly well and each one has a XP-4 and a XP-3 on a 90gal and they keep the tanks looking good. All of the filters are set up for mechanical and biological filtration only. I clean them about once a month and the pads are alway nasty. I tried going longer, but the XP-4 on one of the 125's clogged up bad enough that the pump was trying to suck up the little basket dividers.
