Also, I'm not knocking ACs or canisters. I use an ac on my 20 gallon and I have a Rena xp3 on my 33 gallon. I like sponge filters as complimentary filters to other power filtration (in larger tanks mostly).

hanging on the back all you see in the intake tube which can be hidden easily.

just saying

if you put your AC110 on the front of your tank, well, then yes it will be quite visible
