Rena XP3, Rena XP4, or Fluval FX5?

they're all decent I have two fx5, two 405 and one xp3 that I couldn't pass on the rena's are more user friendly I think

If you are going to pay $200 for a filter grab the FX5. your topic thread is misleading, which is best for the buck, the FX5. but since you already have filters with your 125, hence people will tell you, that you don't need more than a FX5. run an FX5 and a sump and pump and you will be good. FX5 can be bought online for $200. I've had Xp3, JUNK! I've heard good things about XP4, but never want to experience it. $175 for a 405, I would have added a few more $$$ to grab the FX5. but that is just me. I will soon start selling all my smaller filters and moving up to all FX5s, even on my 75 gallon I would want to run FX5.

Sonny, I'm running an fx5 on my 90 gallon right now and it's perfect. Go for it.

sorry to say, but it seems every day here on MFK there is a new FX5 issue thread. hell, there is one right now at the top of this page about noise issues.

the FX5's are great but they seem to have a lot of problem issues.

FX5. why not? i got a 120 with an FX5 and a cascade 1000 (315gph/ 100g). i wont have to buy filters when i get a larger tank later

wow thanks for all of the replies everybody! i think im stubbornly naughty gonna go with the fx5 just for the sake of overfiltering and hopefully future planning as well! i just liked the big GPH it has because i have a large deadspot and..room in the stand for a big one

+1, although imo, the benefits of an FX5 outweigh the issues, and I actually haven't had any issues with mine in about a year *knocks on wood*.
