REPAIRING A FREE 180GAL GLASS

JUST PICKED UP A 180 WITH A 8" CRACK IN THE BOTTOM GLASS. PUT WATER TONIGHT AND NO LEAKS, BUT I WANT TO REPAIR IT. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

the glass is cracked?
buy a piece alittle bigger than the crack and silicone over.

really?! thats what my cousin was telling me but i wasnt sure. you think it would work?

its worked before.
the substrate covers it so you cant see it and if its not even leaking in the first place it should be an easy fix

I would get a peice of glass and take out the old and put in the new. Or for a cheaper/quicker rig. You could get a peice that would cover the crack and just cover it. Its not leaking now and it is probably double glass on the bottom or 2 peices so just covering it should be fine. Use gobs of silicone.

i was thinking of placing a piece that would cover the entire bottom as much as possible, then siliconing tel the never living end!!!!!

IDK if that would be a good idea because the crack could spread at anytime the glass is already weakend. But id say go with getting a piece the size of the bottom but just small enough obviously so it fits inside and silicon around all of it that should work and i think itd be the best rout to go.
