i was thinking of placing a piece that would cover the entire bottom as much as possible, then siliconing tel the never living end!!!!!
that would kinda make it harder to find a stand, unless you could get the whole 6x2 thing of glass...

ok im going to post a pic in a minute. the cool thing is, i can get glass pretty cheap from one of my subcontractors, but im wondering if it will work.

ok so heres the tank and looks like the crack is seeping water

that is risky. i would want to cover as much of it as i could. I would almost put a piece just 2 inches smaller in each direction in the bottom of it. it would spread the stress on the original glass over the whole thing and would be less likely to break that way. also if you can get a stand that would support it from the bottom too that would be a plus.

I would replace the entire bottom panel. the tank was free so investing a little in a new panel would be what I would do. while your at it you could reseal the whole tank and it would be like a brand new one. its pretty easy to do I have resealed a few tanks now. to do this cut the silicone on all the seams and each panel will come out. clean all the old silicone off the glass clean the glass thoroughly. mask the edges of where the silicone will be and reassemble. its wise to have a few friends over to help as moving the large panels can be tricky by yourself. be sure to use Aquarium grade silicone and take your time. it is well worth the extra effort.

yes there is but I don't know how its done personally but I have seen others mention doing it Here in the DIY section I just got another 90G for $200 I will be setting up soon and will need to buff a couple scratches out.

i'd go with a piece that would cover the whole bottom of the tank.
just a piece covering the crack i think would make the tank off balance.

imo anyway lol.
