I would just go ahead and replace the glass. You are still going to end up on the positive side by fixing it the right way.

I bet you could take out the old silicone around the bottom joint on the inside...measure and get a piece of thicker glass to set on top of the old glass that is supported by the frame all around the bottom circumference and silicone that in place, doubling the bottom glass...

Agree with zennzzo since you get the glass for cheap do it that way.Scrape out all the silicone inside the tank.Place glass that covers the entite bottom and resilicone the whole thing.CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!!!Glass needs to be clean and it will seal.

Of course taking out the broken pane is even better.If you can get the frame off without wrecking it.

That's the trick...and a 72x24x24 would be difficult at best...If you've never done it, this one isn't the place to start IMO.

ok, glass had to be ordered and I'm looking to drop all sides and go all out. I'm looking at removing a few scratches

OK SO IVE CHECKED AROUND NOW, AND FROM WHAT IM HEARING IT SOUNDS LIKE I MAY BEABLE TO GET A USED TANK WITH NO LEAK FOR THE SAME AS FIXING THIS ONE.
