I've been scavenging craigslist lately, and notice a few people in my area (Florida) claiming they're selling piranhas and other illegal fish.

It really pisses me off that people do this, and I'm wondering how one would go about alerting the EPA or proper authorities whom may be able to take action?

If anyone has any insight, let me know. Thanks..

There will always be people who for some reason, mostly money but some just to do somthing thats wrong will engage in this type of behavior. The really sad part is that in florida you can probably just go out and catch about anything you want due to illegal release. This having been said i encourage you to pursue your quest against this particular incident. IT HAS TO STOP SOMEWHERE.

I'm not sure if the EPA is who you need, DNR sounds a lot closer, or Fish & Wildlife, also the FBI may have resources to answer your questions.

hope you never do anything illegal, somebody might report you

I was thinking the same thing. They are selling the fish, not dumping them into the river. Don't worry about it. These aren't the people that need to be gone after. It is the people on the river banks with buckets that these laws are made for. Sometimes morally correct and legally correct are two totally different things.

Wrong, IMO...

It's because of people like this mess it up for the rest of us who might be able to take care of and keep more exotic/rare wildlife because they either dump their pet one day, or sell/give it away to someone who has no idea what they're doing and kill or release it themselves.

And to those making smart ass remarks to me, grow up. Unless your criminals yourselves, you don't need to adhere to the juvenile "DONT SNITCH" code. If you truly appreciate fish keeping, you'd understand the attitude about this.
