This is a good series from Scholastic. Albeit I wish they spent a little more time on certain species I favor. The series includes all vertebrate groups including a whole series on fish that is very reliable and accurate IMO. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1391275615.512048.jpg

So my question becomes: where did you obtain this nice Collection? I know from experience it takes years to accumulate but many if these books are not cheap or easy to come by. Even libraries have difficulty locating a wider variety of authors and subjects out of "the ordinary".

This is my office on campus. I teach a class on wildlife of FL so a part of the lab fees from students goes to getting a variety of field guides. The rest is old books from friends or old text books or books I used to cite while writing my thesis. I have been gathering books since I was 13 though and have a nice sized personal collection. There used to be a guy at the Colombia show that had tons of books for sale at great prices. I would sometimes trade him snakes for a stack of books.
