Reptiles banned

Ok ,here´s a topic I think it´s really interesting, so that anyone can give it´s opinion. In my conscience I must admit I´ve been kind of worried about the pet keeping hobby long term suituability, specialy the reptiles part. Every year ,somewere in the world , brand new restricions apear under cover, baning us from keeping or restricting us from keeping certain species , genus or families of animals. Most people still think that some herps like snakes are too dangerous to be keept. Irresponsable hobists and public histeria, along side the media are everywere. Animal rigths extremists constantly convince normal people into ther "mambo jambo" ideas. Where is this going to take us. Untill a world were we are only allowed to keep cats, dogs and gold fish and perhaps not even these?! So what do you guys think?

There are a bunch of dumb laws out there that really make no sense. Don't quote me on this, but I think I've heard that you can't keep geckos in some cities in Canada. And I believe Kittyhazlton mentioned before that you can't keep tortoises in New Hampshire. If these animals were to escape, they could never survive in the wild and populate an area. Common sense tells you that it's just too darn cold. Now I can somewhat understand the banning of large constrictors and venomous animals in Southern Florida but those other laws are just plain stupid.

most of these animals live longer in our hands than in the wild.Its all one more reason for us to spread the word of proper animal keeping to as MANY ppl as we can.Good,hygiene,no releasing of non native or native cb herps into the wild,dont scare ppl with your animals,dont post live feedings with heavy metal music on you tube,dont let your retic eat old Margret's poodle,keep your animals and others safe while interacting together,keep your dog on a damn leash because yours might not bite but mine might if your ****zu comes running up all brave to my pit,I keep mine away from yours and never leave him with ppl unattended.The herp stuff is real important so if you add more to this fine but right here right now is how we can start spreading the word on this stuff.Spread it like a freakin cancer man.Ppl ARE going to f this all up for us some day if we dont start overwhelming them with the importance of this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,dang,where am I,sorry for rant,but this should mean alot to us and we need to spread it through the net,shops,freinds,family and so on.Later.

If you notice, the bans of reptiles are in countries where taxes are relatively low and people preach about losing their "god-given" freedom. Yet in countries where taxes are higher than what most of North Americans and some European countries would like, and people don't ***** about their freedom, they have more leeway with stuff like this.

Just be a responsible taxpayer, and learn to give in order to take. Government won't care if you are funding them.

tortises are legal in nh but illegal in vermont
