well actually the paima up and inspired me to do it, you just helped me along ;)
haha sweet. yeh i wud use a different method now.

6-7 inch pimas r still vulnerable and weak so i wud feed feeders until he gets about 12++ inches. then it shud be much safer to starve! also keep him with fish who eat pellets...he will learn faster by example. best of luck bro!

he will start out with my silver aro that is pellet, nightcrawler, market shrimp, raw fillet meat trained. so he should have a great teacher.

Should have left him where he were, he probably have better change of survival. Suffering but yet alive.

you do know this thread is from a couple of years ago dont you?

ok i felt like i needed to REVIVE this thread because ive decided to buy a PAIR of ARAPAIMAS!!! Reason for my sudden change of heart is that I decided to build a new larger tank as a showpiece for my mum's entertainment area. this new tank will measure 9 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet so its a good size to growout a pair of pimas for a year or so compared to my old tank! NEW TANK BUILD UPDATES COMING SOON! :)
