HAHAHA... Thats funny...

The guy who called me to let me know that his neighbor has a large tank by the road helped. It was quite funny though. The 2 of us were standing there scratching our heads wondering how we were gonna get it in the back of the truck when the owner came out with his buddy and helped load it into the truck!

The whole makes it so that the tank is no longer stable. The front, sides, and rear panels go all the way down past the bottom piece. IE: The glass does not sit on the bottom.

I have heard of tanks being made this way, but never saw one till now. The bottom piece, I think may not be damaged. I wont be able to tell until I can get that patched piece of glass off.

One of these days I will get it in the garage!!!

I would strip the whole thing apart, clean the glass, put it in cardboard in the garrage then just wait (not very patiently) for another free or good deal, and put it back together with whatever else.
you could make a massive plywood tank, and remember the viewing window does not have to be the whole width or height of the tank. He!! you could make several tanks, or one giand one with several windows...

Join freecycle.org people give building materials and all kinds of things away. (its kind of an annoying process to join. you MUST check it out before you buy anything thou!! and craigslist.

I'm already on freecycle for my area and the surrounding areas as well. Believe it or not, I just got the tank in my garage yesterday. However, due to being stricken by a massive stomach bug, I was just now able to get off the toilet and actually post!

I will start stripping the old seals off this week and taking pictures of the actual damage. I have gotten the "patch" mirror off already and I am able to see the damage.

So far, only one piece of glass will need to be replaced. This is a good thing! I am not worried about the silicone, I get all the RTV108 I need for free!

Nice score looking forward to some updates/pics.

a little off subject, but i had girrardia a while back, and nothing worked, so i used a home remedy, swallow pieces of Habanero peppers for a few days.

Ya, it was bad. Usually I can just goto bed and be fine the next day, but my body just couldn't handle this bug alone. Had to use ole faithful, pepto!

Anyways, I am almost back to 100%, I do promise to get working on this thing. It's not a huge tank by any stretch of what you folks have, but it's the largest I have had, so I am very exited to get this up and running.
