If you do decide to reseal, a normal tube of fast drying caulk would work fine. You just have to make sure it sits for a couple of days in the sun to make sure its non-toxic when you add fish. (Basically make sure its Cured). Also wouldnt hurt to run water in it for a week afterwards, just to make sure.

CAULKING?! Do you want to kill your fish? ALOT of caulking has an additive for mold, and it WILL kill your fish.

He should use GE1 Silicon is he is going to reseal his tank without getting "real" aquarium sealant.

He can also use PL Roofing and Flashing adhesive.. it's black. Used it in my koi tank.

Sorry about that, i ment to say Silicone, but couldnt get the word right. happens a lot to me. Def NO caulking.

(Sorry to all those who i may have upset/frustrted/confused with that.. wasnt on purpose..)

GE 1 silicone is a type of caulk says so right on the tube.

Just let it sit at room temperature for about 48 hours. Then do a test fill for 24-48 hours and check for any leaks you might have. I've done about 4 tanks this way and never had any problems. If you're not very good with caulking, tape it off first, just make sure you remove the tape right after you're done, or it will pull the caulking off with it. trust me, I've made that mistake. Someone came over, and I went out about a half hour later to peel the tape off and it took a thin skin of caulking off with it and made a massive mess. So make sure you peel the tape off right away. And GE Silicone 1 has worked perfect for me. No loss of fish, no leaks at all. Good luck!

No, it says 100% Silicone Rubber Sealant.

It is not called Caulking.

Ok because I read that GE 1 is not safe for aquariums because it says not for constant water contact. People say that old tubes of this say it is safe but now the tubes now say it's not safe. Anyone have clarification?
