"I bought this cute little fishy"," I'm not sure what it is but it swims fast,""Can someone please id it?"
"I rescued this rtc, can i put it in with my crayfish? (meant for drama)....

People, please research before you buy/adopt/rescue fish/inverts/reptiles or any animal. Without proper research you dont know the needs of these fish/animals that you think are "soooo pretty, i have to have it" or " I can take that pretty orange/black fish(Oscar) from you and put it in my 10g, i will feed it 10 times a day and love it and kiss it and hug it."

Please, all your doing is creating a mess for yourself and your pet.It is very noble to rescue animals, IF you have the means and know exactly what you have and can help...not create another problem.. Its very simple to google anything and i mean ANYTHING to find out information before you buy/adopt/rescue.
There are to many irresponsible ppl buying/adopting animals that they simply cant take care of. Alot of these animals end up as invasive species or mistreated because of lack of knowledge on how to properly care for them.
It is a crime to not properly treat your dog/cat for an ilness. To not give them proper shelter/food/water. This crime is called "Animal Cruelty".
Buying a pacu and putting it in a 50g tank is "Animal cruelty". Not keeping your tank/reptile enclosure as clean as you can, is"Animal Cruelty""Nasty algae covered glass and stinking water is" Animal Cruelty".

PLEASE, be responsible and research before you buy/adopt/rescue. If your not willing to give your pets 100% then DONT get them...
thanks for reiterating what many people on this site have said a miilion times over. u know, im sure 99% of MFKers would have never known and done this if u hadnt started a thread on it. Thank you for ur joyous and helpful thread

Sad thing is, all the ones that do research and then go against what the research has shown them. Seen that too many times here on MFK :screwy:

If you did research, you should tell the different between a blue gourami and a GG. Lionfish is marine, not brackish...
Funny, considering you are wrong. There is a 'freshwater lionfish', Batrachus trispinosus. Which is brackish, not marine.

aint this the truth.

or people who say, well i know this fish needs (x) water conditions(temp, ph etc) but ill put it in the polar oppisite, it will adapt or die. oh well:screwy:

for example of what i said, we had a person on this forum that had sturgeon in a tank with the temps in the 80s. wth
