Resisting temptation

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would like to change out my pleco and go back to a common pleco(s). I have a L001 but he's an a@@hole and killed the other plecos in the tank...then he hides all the time.

But, I won't trade him in so I'm stuck with him until he dies.

I love my l001, bit shy but awesome mini gibbi, mines about 10 inch now after 4 years!-)

I like my common pleco,s , pulled the tape out last weekend, the one in the 180 15" and the one in the 95 11" they do a great service for me in my opinion, I see them as working fish, they have a job and do it well.

Temptation...? The closest analogy I can think of is that of a compulsive gambler... You keep playing hoping that one hand will hit the 'bulls eye.' I'm still trying to 'rehab' myself from compulsive fish buying by the way lol...

I've had this Compulsive Fish Buying Syndrome all my life (since I got into the hobby when I was 5 years old). But Ill give a more recent example for this comment:

It started off with payaras and NTT datnoids. I had 13 scombs in my 240 for over a year, almost all of them doubled in size and then they all died one after the other, randomly for no apparent reason. After about 3 months of mourning, my temptation switched towards keeping as many NTT Datnoids as I can. And the same thing happened with the NTTs as well. Don't know why but the big ones (the ones that I had for almost 2 years) just started to die off at around the 9-11" mark... The water parameters were good in both cases but for some reason I wasn't able to keep them long term. I sold the remaining NTTs after some of my favorites died. It was sad and heartbreaking, but again, after a few months of mourning my temptation turned towards african tigers... I have 3 of them and I spend my free time youtubing / searching MFK for videos / posts about african tiger communities.

I can say that I'm recovering because I only have 3 african tigers (all I've had for almost 6 months and none of them are goliath) and I resist my urge to buy more of them every day haha! :D

Lol in that case I better make a post. I want a arrowina but I have 2 clown knife's in my 450 with my rays. And everything is real mellow in there. I'm scared a arrowina will off set the balance of the tank.

Jaws I'll take a 6 foot custom sized aquarium with cabinet, I'll bill you once I add filtration and some disgustingly expensive fish
