Restarting a Monster Comm

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The banding under the jaw is a bit suspicious. Well will see as it gets bigger. Curious if u know the collection point? If u can find out will be even better.

at first glance it looked like a lacerdae, cause imo after seeing enough proven ones, they have a different stripe across their body imo, its not so bold, hard to explain, but the head threw me off of that, then the jaw shot proved otherwise, so let it heal and then try to get some better under jaw shots and a clear side shot so we can count pores and LL scales.

This is an 8-9 incher housed amongst my leftover from previous comm. A red aro and a cuban gar; both over 20 inches. Shouldn't posed any risk to them. LOL!

Will try to add more pics later on.

The wolf had minor scrape around its mouth area, as advised, will take a better pic when the opportunity comes.

Another comm fella added 2 weeks earlier. Channa Pleuro. Was pale white when I picked it up (due to the white tank backgrounds at LFS). Love the turquoise development now.

How big is your tank?

If you are starting a monster community tank with a hoplias malabaricus then you are starting off right. Definitely one of my favorites.

An old guard made an appearance and the wolf stayed motionless; knowing this is not the time (and size) to pick a fight.

Knowing the throne of its king remained secured, the lieutenant from Cuba turned around and faded back into the depths of the tank.

In keeping up with Characins title, a couple of more pics on the wolf. Really love it's silver shine (as compared with my previous wolves).

Another under jaw close up if we can use this to confirm its species. The LFS got this from another hobbyist, the point of collection could not be determined.

I think you have wolf fishes' aggression a little exaggerated.. They aren't that bad. They look the part though. And I'm counting 4 pores which points to mala. Let's see what others say. And a Cuban gar will outgrow that tank.. Don't they get 5'+? And whoever bit your wolf's face got a good hold of him.
