Retarded LFS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
way too funny, bad to hear about this type of thing going around. I have a local fish store here called sail fin and I feel lucky because they know what they are doing or atleast the owner does, he even knows all the scientific names!

I'm thankful this one LFS is just one in a hand full that really don't care.

The majority of the LFS I visit are actually pretty well educated and understand what they're doing. My uncle happens to work at one of the better places down here called "Exotic Aquariums" as a maintenance guy so I'm really lucky. :D

Man I dunno whats wrong in my province but in my entire life I have seen 1 petshop where the people know what they are doing and where animals are well kept! :( Its like the norm here! Ya walk in any LFS= ya witness dead amphibians, dead fish, featherless birds, sick kittens and puppies... and they try to sell ya all sorts of useless junk...

That's just horrible. It's really a shame because it seems most stores sell them as if they're products and toys. They may be small but they're still animals! =\

You just have to go out and do your field work when finding a trustworthy LFS to shop at.

well I had my first experience with bad fish care, I had to go into pets mart for a new filter because sail fin was closed for fourth of July and I witnessed a guy drop a 4" oscar on the ground after netting it for a customer, the customer said he didn't want it after the guy droped the fish on the ground so I ran up there and told the guy working that droped it to put it in a bag for me, I ended up walking out of the store with the oscar for free, I put him in my extra 29G tank for now, he hasn't ate yet and its been 4 days and the first two days he wouldn't swim at all but now he is active and being friendly like a oscar should be and starting to take interest in food, when he heals up and back to normal im going to sell him to sail fin where they can take better care of him than pets mart-petsmart=idiots.

Dude, nice job, you just gave that Oscar a future.

the fish was flopping around in the net, a net way to small for the ascar and jumped out falling a good 5 or 6 feet to the ground, yea he needs a chance for a good home even if I can only provide it for a month or so.
