PH is whatever comes out of the tap here in good ol Spokane Washington :) Tried finding it on line with no such luck. I really never tested my tank with any sort of kit or anything after the tank was cycled I just started dumping in my cheapest fish first and went from there. I am a horrible fish keeper I know..... K.I.S.S!!

That's actually quite interesting that you've never tested ph. I was always under the impression that ph was supposed to be very low. Maybe not. I had a retic that lived fine and ate healthy for 3 months under my care and one day I came home to a dead ray! I said something to my lfs and they said it could've been my high ph. But, I've also heard where other people kept them in ph that was high and hard water

Retic pregnant again she had 3 healthy pups Nov 2010 and is due again next month with at least one. PH is right around 8 here in Spokane.

Cool thread. I've had a male female laticeps pair since they were lil pups. They are a year old and around 7 inch disc. I since added another lil female. I plan on getting this group to breed in the next 2 years. Your lil story inspired me!

She has now had 6 healthy fat little retic pups since August 2010. She is due again around May 12th with her 4th litter. Her and the males will be seperated this time by the first of May and she is getting a break! Expecting her next littler to be at least 3 and possibly more. Already seeing lots of movement and she is not even 6 weeks along in this pregnancy. I hear alot about how hard retics are to take care of but really I have had nothing but good luck with them. Clean water, big tank, quality food and no tank mates that will pick on them and they are good to go.

Super excited!!! I am soon to be the proud owner of a mature Hystrix male. Thank you USMCTanker! Hopefully I will be the first to produce retic x hystrix pups. Should have the new ray at my house the afternoon of the 11th of April. Gonna have a hard time going to sleep tonight.....
