The snappers has about. 5 or 6 inch carapace length, not entirely sure, haven't measured him in a while. When I got him last summer his carapace was about 4 inches. He is pretty tame for a snapper, I think that might relate to the fish. Very laid back. Though it could change in time I expect.
Right now he's with a goldfish, 8 platies, 18 or 20 fathead minnows, and a redtailed shark. He lived with a brown bullhead catfish for 7ish months with almost no problems also. Only time he went after it was when the fish was stressed out from me trying to net it and move him to a new tank. He deffinately picks up on when fish are stressed or sick.
I know it's just not him being a lazy hunter because I can't keep anything else with him for a considerable amount of time. He loves crayfish and snails lol
