And this guy already has a ton of personality! He was a little freaked out from the car ride home, but settled down really quickly and let me hold him for a few pictures. Then I put him in the enclosure. In the span of 30 minutes, he checked out the hide box twice, climbed across all the driftwood, basked 3 times, ate 3 times, and threatened two of our cats! It was hilarious. The cats were both at the same corner staring at him. He walked up to the glass, puffed up, and bobbed his head at them :headbang2.

I wish I'd had the camera on video to record it... Anyways, here's some pictures. He's spending very little time in the hide box, which surprises me. I figured he'd hide for the first couple of days before exploring, but he seems more interesting in checking out his new digs and having something to eat. I'm glad he likes his basking spot as well.

The cats were completely entranced for about 45 minutes, til they finally realized they can't get into the terrarium. The dogs have completely ignored it (as usual).

:D

im assuming this is in your garage but thats funny...its called a rhino iguana or is a iguana? ive never heard of a rhino iguana whats the care sheet?

i see how the basking light is. i actually like that but id do like a uvb strip over the top of the tank or a mercury vapor bulb.

cute ig.

awesome lizard, glad you finally got it! you will love them and as they get older they start to show some nice blue colors. He looks like he is in good health and attitude too so that is a great find.

Just keep in mind iggs get pretty aggressive when not handled frequently so keep a strict regiment of handling to keep the good temper and improve his nerves.

I'm going to get a nice uvb light, and I'm building a custom light box for the side of the tank. I may also find a way to hand a bulb or two from the glass inside of the tank (might not be easy).

He's going to get handled quite frequently (slowly at first), I definitely don't want an aggressive, unmanageable iguana.
