Rhoadsia altipinna

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Finally was able to get my new trio to produce some fry. Shocking how many there are and how tiny they are, love them.

Congrats, very cool. One of the fish on my wish list, rarely seen at very least rarely seen by me.

cichlidnut cichlidnut I know you haven’t been active in quite a while, but did you ever have any experience with the females eating the fry past being laid? The male seems to be very intent on keeping them away from the eggs/fry.

have also observed one female eating eggs off the rocks but they were white/milky and visibly unfertilized. Unsure if that was coincidence though.

JW where you sourced these? i missed out on them on one of Rapps last lists before selling to kevin.

The fry will be ready soon, I will also be posting a revised thread going over extensive care and quirks I have discovered.

One of the most interesting discoveries is they are definitely not piscivorous. I added some least killifish for them to eat, in a strange turn of events, these livebearers have dropped several fry and none have yet to be eaten. Strange
