I am saving for a ridgeback puppy and even though its a few months away, I am still freaking out about a lot of things regarding their care. I have done hours and hours of research and have gotten so many mixed answers that I am confused. Some say that its bad to feed them peas, some say its really good. Some say rice is bad but rice is in all of the dog foods, even the super expensive ones that are recommended! Raw diets seem to be great but I would like it to eat a good quality kibble as well. maybe mix and match. but at the same time because the kibble digests faster than meat so it can cause gastrointestinal issues and digestion issues. I currently plan on buying the Blue buffalo brand food, and sometimes feeding raw eggs (with shell), maybe occasionally put plain yogurt in the kibble, and on occasion raw meat and bones. (cooked bones are bad because they splinter and can hurt the dog). any suggestions or objections?
