Right amonia for tank cycling???

Ammonia* my crappy spelling. My mom uses amonia to clean different stuff, so she picked up an extra bottle since i told her i need to buy it for cycling my tank. I read that you want it to be clear and no suds when you shake it.

Is there any certain thing i should look for under the contents

Yup, that be correct.

Under the contents, it should say ammonium hydroxide and thats it. It'll probably say it's amount percentage wise.

What you don't want are phosphates or scent additives. So, if it stinks like lemons or something, it's no good. It should smell like ammonia and the scent will be very strong.

I looked up on the internet and it said it has to be "pure" ammonia and has to lack all cleaning stuff.


also the ingredients are: Ammonium Hydroxide and Surfactant. if that helps

Goldex ammonia is great....i used it to cycle my tank.

you want ammonia that has 0 additives..
