No, I never tried salamanders- I couldn't do that to them - I like salamanders :)
I do too, iv been wanting a tiger salamander for awhile. But id rather sacrifice a few to get this guy eatting then let him fade away.

Nice,I've heard of but never seen one before. They seem similar to the Dekays snakes that are all over my property...I've never been able to get them to eat in captivity.

Never caught one of those either. Jealous!! Still trying to find a green snake but no luck.

It's funny Lep,they are really abundant in some parts of the city but I have never seen a green or any kind of garter snake.

Garter snakes and Ringneck snakes are fairly common where I'm at (southern Indiana). Behind my house is a cornfield and creek, it's unusual when me and my son go down to the creek in the summer I don't see at least one Garter, Ringneck, or Brown Water snake...

Thought about keeping a garter, but never considered keeping a ringneck snake... Besides the dangers from WC snakes, always kind of liked Corn snakes anyway, and their endless colorations...

I've seen a few brown water snakes at the creek where I catch minnows.

His tank.

I found a ringneck in my basement this summer. Kept him for a couple weeks before letting him go. I was feeding him on mouse parts... I removed the tails and feet from some of the feeder mice for my other snakes and left them under a piece of cork bark. The pieces disappeared over night.

I would put about 4 more inches of dirt in the bottom of the tank. Having a ringneck is like having a pet tank of dirt, they prefer to spend most of their time deep underground or hiding under something laying flat on the surface of the dirt.

^i would like to refute that. See below

So cute!!!
