Rio mongo convicts?

i just got a F1 pair today at a fish auction.
very limited information on these guys. it seems there is some disagreement if it's a variant of the HRP, or whether it's somehow more related to A. nanoleutus...
anyone have any experience?

Based on looks I would say they look like beautiful normal cons, compared to a HRP or A. nanolutus I have had or have all the above except rio mongo. Is that the name of the body of water they come from? They look A LOT like my wild caught lake nic cons, and nothing like my HRP or my nanolutus. Did you just get the pair? And if you don't mind how much did you pay? My wilds were 35$ for the pair at 1.5"...

i'll wait for mine to color up and get settled

so far i can't really tell much difference between them and regular convicts
i got them cuz they were different... plus you can't go wrong with $4

i have a pair of nanos. they are great fish. def. cryptoheros. stunning little "yellow cons." i love the blue eyes.

even if they aren't all that different it's kind of cool to keep convicts again i must say. they were the first cichlids i've ever spawned... and they hold a special place for me
