yeah bro he is dead center between two other fish and goes from side to side hitting the glass from early in the morning till late @ night. I go in the garage and 1st thing I see is him hitting the glass trying to get his neighbors. So what am I picking up this SoCal meet :naughty: ? I seen some possiblities... you got a txt ;)

I gotta swing over and check that thing out in person. My Beani look NOTHING like that stunner. He's getting nice and thick.

thanks for the compliments guys

oh yeah this boy eats about 6+ massivore pellets a day along with some Hikari freeze dried krill 60 sumthin % protein.

That's an incredible looking fish! Awesome!

Normally though, the diet would worry me a bit. Lots of people tend to feed beani a lower protein or more highly digestible diet to avoid bloat, etc. It seems yours is "through the woods" as they say and has settled in nicely.

I had the same thought initially but the diet seems to be working. I had a group of yellow labs from Rusty that were over 6" that I thought were 'over the hump' too and they all bloated and died on me. Not saying this will happen at all but it happened to me. It still bugs me to this day!

That Beani is show quality for sure. Jealous.

Trust me this guy will not bloat. His diet has always been high protein with me. He won't accept anything less :). In my experience bloat only occurs with stress nothing to do with diet. Every now and then he will take some spirinilla but his favorite is the massivore and krill along with a mixture of hikari's pellets from time to time. I just can't wait till he gets over the 12" mark :naughty:

Just to be clear with my point, it's not the level of protein that's important, it's the relative digestibility of it.

Much of the protein in Massivore is undigestible, so there are less expensive ways to get the same results. BUT, as you've probably experienced, once a fish takes to a food, weaning him off it can be a challenge!

tell what your food of choice is then Chris or what would you suggest..... NLS ? Getting this guy off a good I don't think would be a problem seeing how aggressive an eater he is. Let me know bro
