Stock Eliminator class is very restrictive, you must use stock parts, and you must tear apart your engine for inspection after setting records, after winning races, or at any time your performance is good enough to draw attention. The better your time, the more weight you must carry as a penalty to keep the class competitive. Otherwise, there would be one fastest car that cost a million dollars LOL. The only exception to this rule is when you meet another car in the same Stock Eliminator class as yourself, for example, two L/SA cars are racing each other, then, it is flat out and the fastest car should win if nothing bad happens. You never want to tip your hand and show how fast you can go; you never want to take a record by alot. That would bring heat on your car. My car picture here ran J/K/L/M in automatic and stick. Usually, I ran L/SA and would go about 12.00 @110. The car was actually able to turn 10.90's but of course I would never want to show that! Of course any car can go faster simply by losing weight, but in NHRA you have to be weighed, have your gas tested, and tear down the engine. That is the hard part...and the credit and expertise goes to my ex-husband, Mark Yacavone.

wow, thats super cool. What records have you set? I've had aspirations to race a much smaller circuit, the Pacific Street Car Assoc. A friend and I have been trying to get something together for the drag radial class.

ha ha!! Its also funny how the grass is always greener on the other side. I would have loved to have been a part of the pit crew when I was young. Although my dad had been a mechanic for several years, he rarely helped or encourage me in my automotive endevors, as a matter of fact he always DISCOURAGED me. While I was stoked learning cam and manifold changes, hed just shake his head at me and tell me to keep it stock. On the other hand, he loved fishing as you do, and would probably have been much more eager to do that with me.
