RIP CASPER 36X30

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dang John, Sorry to hear about your big boy going.....he was definitely a beast. That guy was so ugly he was cute, had that Pug quality to him.....I think the warm water, cold fish could hold true as well, like the guy above said, maybe his metabolism just wasn't meant to work that fast.....

Sorry for the loss. It always sucks to lose a pet.

I haven't kept a channel that long in tropical temps. I normally keep them about 1 to 2 years and they grow like weeds, then I put them in a pond. I was putting them in my moms pond, now I have my own. Our oldest channel is about 11 years old now, but still only about 3'.

I guess with the warmer temps their metabolism never slows down like it does in seasonal temperatures, so they get their full lifespan faster.

Sorry for your loss, I was hoping to see him again =(

Sorry man, my channel was one of the most active and comical fish I've ever had, it was tough getting rid of him, had to from size, but you did good with yours, my condolences.

The tank never has looked the same. I miss seeing the big mass of white prowl about the floor.

Are there any plans for Casper?

Channel cats not only live in cold water with a higher DO they also live in fairly quick moving water as well. Koi do very poorly in warm water compared to cold so I think your right about the DO bieng a problem.

Sorry for the loss John.
