I wouldn't be surprised if it was the pacu, i had a pacu rip off the face of my firemouth once. They were the only fish in the tank so it must have been it.

A special diet? For no mouth...

They don't have prosthetic mouths for fish. He would have died slowly.

He could soften up it's food, put it in an eye dropper, catch the fish and manually force feed it everyday.
