i didnt specify dimentions now did i? im thinking {[(62x24x36)x2]+(36x36x24)}=662

thats an estimate. not even sure i used those dimentions when i calculated

You don't need to specify dimensions i just know it's impossible for you to take apart your tank and then rebuild three tanks with that much glass. unless you plan on doing plywood. but then again if your figuring out how to just take apart a aquarium i would say do your research and read read read! i say stick to your perfectly fine aquarium and save some money and spend it on a bigger aquarium in the future if your heart desires. just my opinion but hey it's your tank do what you want and goodluck, just don't wanna see another "my tank busted thread"

You plan on using each pane of glass as a viewing window for plywood tanks? That would've made a lot more sense if you had stated that to begin with, I think we just assumed your math was waaaay crazy off.

Your tanks should at least be as wide as the largest pane of glass you have, I think the standard width for a 125 gallon tank is 72 inches.

I'd still probably make additional tanks and not demolish the original, anyway. The glass'd be cheaper to buy pieces of not already assembled into a tank.

Usually for such a large piece of glass you'd have to find a local distributor and prices would vary depending. I'm sure some places would mail it, but the shipping would probably be crazy and you'd risk it breaking/getting scratched in transit. Also depending on what types of shops you have around, you could also look for acrylic sheets~

In my experience (I only have one shop in town that sells tanks over 55 gallon), tanks like the one you already have are very, very expensive.

skyeler.. I know what you are thinking about taking the tank apart.. if you are set on using that tank that does not leak, then i would suggest on making the tanks out of plywood before you break the tank apart. Life has a tendency to change so you might never get it done. then you are stuck with glass that was a tank and having to try and put it back together. Also I would wait till after college when you will be home to take care of the tanks.. Just my 2 cents.
